New Toys for His New Strength

With newly acquired head and neck strength, comes new toys. This is little Beckett in his "bumbo" chair. He really liked it and it allowed me to do a little cooking while he sat up and watched while playing with toys.

This week (just turning 16 weeks) we put him in a toy that Michelle and Jeff lent us (thank you!) for the first time. He got pretty excited and then very overwhelmed by all of the moving parts. These two videos are of him learning how to make it make noise and you can hear the cute noises he makes too! By the way, half of the videos are sideways, which makes viewing slightly difficult; learned our lesson about our camera video.

Just Cute Photos

Beckett turned 16 weeks old on Friday, August 20th. I can't believe he's about 4 months old now! He has learned so many new things in the last couple weeks and we continue to take many photos of him in different outfits, poses, etc.

Matt and I went on a date night on Saturday and spent the first half of dinner looking at pictures of Beckett. We have problems... But anyway, below are some of our favorite shots, so we hope you enjoy as much as we do.

Beckett on his play mat with his elephant in his mouth. Very technical skill including grabbing it and positioning it correctly in his mouth:).

This is his new pacifier.
While we all went kayaking last weekend, Beckett spent the afternoon napping in the shade. It was 96 degrees this day so he had to have a cool cloth on his head.

A wonderful visit from Beth and Barbara.
Every time we change Beckett now, he grabs his toes and plays and plays. Yes, that is a "pee pee tee pee" and no, it wasn't supposed to be in the shot.
Our serious and hairless little sweetheart.

Papa is helping Beckett learn to sit up, which takes so much concentration:).

Posing for his modeling shot.

Trip to Visit The Snodgrass Family in Seattle

Two weeks ago we took a trip up to Seattle to visit Nate, Erin, and Ellie. We miss them so much and wish we could make it up more often. They so generously let us stay with them and Ellie shared all of her toys, bed, and swing with her little cousin Beckett!

We had a wonderful weekend filled with runs/walks, picnics, the zoo, and fun time spent watching the little ones. Beckett (and Matt and I) also learned some excellent new songs and he began to use his vocal chords even more after the visit and hearing his little cousin use hers:). They're both very talkative little ones.

Do you think they look alike? They both don't have much hair yet, he he. And they both have intense looks in this pic!
Ellie is holding Beckett's hand. So sweet...

Eliana is the queen of Pilates and has stronger abs than any of us, although, Nate and Erin were trying to keep up with her workout.

All dressed up for a day at the zoo!

And guess what we saw at the zoo! Yes, meerkats and they were cuter than ever. This was Beckett's first experience seeing meerkats in person and they're now his favorite animal too!
See how excited he is? Or maybe just I am...
That's a big grizzly bear behind the boys.
If this isn't the cutest sight, I don't know what is. The two brothers and their little babies. They're such good daddies and their babies couldn't be luckier to have them.
Thank you Nate, Erin, and Ellie for having us. We'll be back to visit again soon and we love you so much!

Practicing Sitting

Beckett has developed enough neck strength that he can hold up his head when we pull him to a sitting position. He is trying to sit up on his own too! He's such a strong little boy. His papa is helping him in the pictures below and he was pretty excited!

This is one of our favorite Beckett shots of all time. Isn't he a prize?!

Important Skills

Little Beckett is learning a very important skill; putting his pacifier in his mouth by himself! This video shows his attempts when he first woke up this morning. What a sweetheart he is:).
